AUTHOR’S POV
Morning at the Navora Group of Law & Institutions arrived like any other day.
Students rushed across the courtyard with books pressed against their chests, debates about constitutional rights echoed near the library steps, and professors walked through the hallways with their usual academic authority.
But beneath the calm surface…
something had shifted.
The attack in the archive corridor last night had confirmed one thing.
The spy was not only inside the campus…
they were already aware of Ruhi’s presence.
And somewhere inside the walls of Navora—
a secret waited to be discovered.
RUHI’S POV
“Play it again.”
Aalia sighed dramatically through the earpiece.
“For the sixth time?”
“Yes.”
The small hidden device in my ear transmitted the footage again.
Grainy camera visuals from the archive corridor.
Two masked attackers.
One smoke device.
Then—
a strange flicker in the security system.
Aalia paused the frame.
“There.”
I leaned closer to the laptop screen.
For exactly two seconds, a small signal spike appeared in the campus network.
Aaron whistled softly.
“That’s not random interference.”
“No,” Aalia said.
“That’s a data transfer.”
My eyes narrowed.
“Source?”
She typed rapidly.
The keyboard clicked like gunfire.
“Tracing… tracing… got it.”
Everyone went silent.
Then she said quietly—
“The server room under the old law library.”
Rohan frowned.
“There’s a server room there?”
Aaron leaned back in his chair.
“If there is, the administration clearly doesn’t want anyone to know about it.”
I closed the laptop.
“Then we find out why.”
AUTHOR’S POV
By afternoon, Ruhi walked through the campus library like a normal student.
But her eyes were scanning every corner.
Every hallway.
Every possible hidden entrance.
The Navora Library was massive.
Ancient wooden shelves stretched across the room filled with centuries-old legal texts. Dust floated gently in the sunlight pouring through tall windows.
At the far end of the library—
a narrow corridor led to a restricted section.
Ruhi walked toward it calmly.
A security guard stood there.
Perfect.
Distraction.
Within seconds, Aaron accidentally dropped a pile of law books near the entrance.
The loud crash echoed across the room.
The guard rushed toward him immediately.
“Hey! Be careful!”
While the guard scolded Aaron—
Ruhi slipped into the corridor.
Silent.
Unnoticed.
RUHI’S POV
The restricted hallway smelled like old paper and damp stone.
Good sign.
It meant this part of the building wasn’t used often.
I reached the end of the corridor.
A dead end.
Or at least…
that’s what it looked like.
I tapped my earpiece.
“Aalia.”
“Scanning walls.”
Three seconds passed.
Then—
“Ruhi… step two feet left.”
I moved.
“Now press the third brick from the bottom.”
I pressed the brick
A faint mechanical click echoed inside the wall.
Then slowly—
the stone panel slid sideways.
Revealing a narrow staircase descending underground.
Cold air rushed upward.
Aaron’s voice whispered in the earpiece.
“Well… that’s not suspicious at all.”
I pulled out a small flashlight.
“Stay alert.”
And stepped down.
AUTHOR’S POV
The underground chamber was dimly lit.
Cables ran along the walls like tangled veins.
In the center of the room stood a hidden encrypted server system.
Multiple monitors.
Secure storage drives.
Military-grade encryption.
Rohan stared at it in disbelief.
“This isn’t a student setup.”
Aalia’s voice came through the earpiece again.
“Don’t touch anything yet. I’m connecting remotely.”
Ruhi studied the machines carefully.
Then suddenly—
footsteps echoed from the staircase above.
Everyone froze.
Someone was coming down.
Ruhi immediately moved into the shadows beside the server rack.
The door opened.
A tall figure stepped inside.
For a moment Ruhi prepared to attack.
Then the light revealed the face.
Manan Singh Rajput.
Her jaw tightened.
Of course.
He looked around the room calmly.
Almost like he had expected to find something here.
Ruhi stepped out of the shadows.
“Well, Professor.”
He turned.
Not surprised.
“Ms. Rai.”
Her eyes sharpened.
“Interesting hobby you have.”
“And yours?”
He glanced at the server system.
“Breaking into restricted areas.”
"its almost interesting and suspicious how you appear at suspicious places "
" I could say the same about you Ms.Rai and top of that you and your friends being students "
Before Ruhi could respond—
another sound echoed from above.
Not footsteps.
Multiple footsteps.
Fast.
Rohan whispered urgently through the earpiece.
“Ruhi… we’ve got company.”
The door burst open.
Three masked men rushed inside.
One of them immediately pointed a gun toward Ruhi.
Everything happened in seconds.
Ruhi moved first.
She kicked the man’s wrist, forcing the gun upward.
A loud shot echoed into the ceiling.
The second attacker lunged toward her.
But before he could reach—
Manan moved.
Fast.
Too fast for a normal professor.
He grabbed the attacker’s arm and twisted it sharply.
The man collapsed instantly.
Aaron whispered “Okay… that professor definitely didn’t learn that in law school.”
The third attacker rushed toward Ruhi with a knife.
She blocked the strike—
but the man pushed her backward toward the server rack.
For a moment the blade flashed dangerously close to her throat.
Then suddenly—
Manan stepped in.
He grabbed the attacker from behind and slammed him against the wall.
The fight ended within seconds.
Silence filled the room.
Ruhi stared at Manan.
Her breathing slightly heavier.
“You fight like a trained operative.”
He adjusted his sleeve calmly.
“Self-defense.”
Aaron whispered again “Yeah… sure.”
Ruhi stepped closer to him.
“Who exactly are you, Professor?”
Their eyes locked.
For a brief moment—
something strange happened.
A flicker of memory crossed Ruhi’s mind.
Rain.
A younger voice.
A boy standing beside her on a training ground.
And a sentence whispered long ago.
“तुम गिरोगी तो मैं पकड़ लूँगा।”
If you fall, I will catch you.
The memory vanished instantly.
Ruhi blinked.
Confused.
Manan watched her expression carefully.
“Something wrong?”
She shook the thought away.
“No.”
But her instincts were screaming now.
This man…
was hiding far more than he showed.
Manan looked toward the server system again.
Then said quietly—
“सत्यस्य मार्गः कठिनः।”
The path of truth is always difficult.
Ruhi crossed her arms.
“And lies are easier to live with?”
He looked at her steadily.
“Sometimes lies protect more lives than truth.”
Their eyes locked again.
Tension thick enough to cut.
Enemy.
Ally.
Or something far more complicated.
But one thing was certain.
The spy inside Navora had just realized something dangerous.
Ruhi Rai Singhania was not alone.
And neither was Manan Singh Rajput.
